Our Community Vision for Eastfield
💡 What Would You Rather See Here?
We’re collecting ideas from residents near the Eastfield Road / Prosperity Church Road intersection and the surrounding community about what could be a better fit for this property.
This isn’t just about saying “no” — we want to hear what our community would actually like to see here. Submit an idea, vote for ideas you support, and help us identify the alternatives that have the strongest community support.
A couple of things to keep in mind:
🏪 Think beyond specific businesses. You can suggest a type of business, service, development, or community space—not just a specific company.
💡 Think about what's missing. What would make this area more useful, convenient, or enjoyable for the people who live nearby?
❤️ Vote for ideas you'd actually support. Your votes will help us understand which suggestions resonate most with the community.
🗣️ Have a different idea? Submit it! Even if someone else has already suggested something similar, your perspective can help show broader community support. (We may lump similar ideas together to reduce visual clutter but we’ll keep specific names listed in the description!)
🚫 And yes—tell us what you DON'T want, too! If there's a particular type of business or development you believe would be a poor fit for this location, submit it and explain why. Submit your idea title like this: “NO: Gas station / car wash”

Back in 2015 the Prosperity Village area was identified as needing a public regional library, marking it as “high priority”. Now, eleven years later and still no library in sight, we think this location would be a fantastic spot to propose to Charlotte Mecklenburg Libraries as a permanent spot to set roots in the area.

McDonald's & Taco Bell are being built across the street (next to Novant Health & Walgreens).
Eastfield Park
114 acres of planned public park space along Eastfield Road Eastfield Park is a planned 114-acre Mecklenburg County park focused on nature-based recreation, including walking and hiking trails, cycling, nature play, a dog park and other amenities. Phase 1 design was completed in early 2026, with construction expected to begin in late 2026 and continue into 2027. Learn more.
CMPD Northeast Division & Substation
A new police division is coming to the northeast Charlotte area. Charlotte City Council recently approved $3.75 million to purchase property for a new CMPD Northeast Division station at W.T. Harris Boulevard and Old Statesville Road. The new division will be created by splitting the existing North Division into Northwest and Northeast Divisions, with the goal of improving staffing and response times as the area continues to grow. Car Wash / Vacuums
While useful, stand-alone car washes are very noisy due to the use of vacuums by dozens of cars simultaneously. This would be a major noise complaint.

Specifically would love to see a sensible resale shop from nearby donations where proceeds benefit actual charities. Maybe the local churches could partner together to raise the capital for this!

A beginner friendly strength training space that doesn't directly compete with Gold’s Gym but offers a different vibe.
Boutique / Gift Shop / "Paper Skyscraper"
Sprouts Farmers Market
Ideally wish we could have Josh’s Farmers Market but Sprouts probably is the best alternative for the cost of this lot.
